Karen & John's Wedding Day at Bartholomew Barn Kirdford

I was looking forward to photographing Karen and John's wedding day in the sunny Sussex countryside. I had shot at Kirdford before and it was a welcome return visit to the pretty village church of John the Baptist, bang opposite the very hospitable Half Moon Inn. No time to linger though, work to be done and all that.....must come back again sometime though....!!

The very enthusiastic trio of bridesmaids were well up for the job of supporting Karen as she arrived in her dazzling  white vintage car. She looked absolutely lovely walking up the church with Dad (Karen had actually said prior to the day that she "didn't take good photos" ?!!  hard to believe - I couldn't get enough of her beautiful radiant smiles). John obviously appreciated them too !!

It was a lovely ceremony with music and sunflowers complimenting the setting. Sunshine outside for photos and confetti before the short drive to Bartholomew Barn for the reception. This venue has, as well as the historic barn building itself , a wonderful courtyard and gardens set within the scenic Sussex fields and countryside. A splendid backdrop to work with for the photographs-  involving more help from the enthusiastic bridesmaids and friends !!

Wedding Photos from Xanthe and Alun's day in Chichester

I was looking forward to taking photos at Xanthe and Alun's wedding day, with the rich varied locations on offer. Their ceremony took place at the Chichester Chambers in the heart of the city centre. With its historic backdrops, old stone and with the setting in the old paved bustling streets, there was a real sense of time and place.

Xanthe looked drop dead gorgeous, keeping here hair long in the starlet style and Alun was obviously knocked sideways (was that a lower lip tremble?!) with her stunning entrance to the Chamber room. He manfully composed himself and with the two best men's help/hindrance placed the ring upon his beautiful (almost wife) bride's finger. Words exchanged, whoops, cheers and clicks and the marriage was sealed.

A happy mingle outside in the archways with confetti and laughing before heading off to the next location - the scenic waterside by the Chichester Yacht Club. Nautical themes naturally presented themselves, and were embellished with the fun decorations - buntings, sea shells, sand, sailor with a sword....and don't forget the passing ducks determined to join the party and get into a photo or two !!

It was a lovely setting with the beautiful views and then the icing on the cake (not literally....the saying I mean...the actual icing on the cake were the sea shells !!?)  when the sun suddenly burst through, just as Alun and Xanthe went walkabout along the floating jetty. Brilliant radiant light for some stunning shots of our happy couple together - yay !!

Wonderful wedding photos from Richard & Katherine wedding day in Surrey

Great wedding photo opportunities with 2 beautiful people and 2 beautiful wedding venues !!

Richard and Katherine's day started in the pretty village of Holybourne, with family and friends gathering for the church ceremony at The Holy Rood church. The interior of which was stunningly decorated with abundant flowers. Katherine arrived in classic style in a white vintage Rolls (Country Style Cars), to be greeted by her sister and friend as bridesmaids. Her stunning dress from the Ivory Boutique in Farnham with bouquet from Village Flowers in Four Marks.

After a lovely relaxed ceremony, we nipped over the border to Surrey for the reception in the truly magnificent Farnham Castle. Now this really does have fantastic photo potential and provides a good workout exploring the extensive gardens - not just 'some grass', but the Great Lawn! Plus the rose garden, the tower, you can climb up and around the Norman Keep, then you've got the amazing interiors.....all quite a distance and I had developed a pretty good appetite, as had my couple ! (which was kindly rewarded by delicious food !).

While we ate it rained a bit, but after the meal, right on cue, it stopped and the clouds parted to reveal a superb sunset ! (up to the top of the keep again guys, keep smiling please) . Alex, a good friend of Richard and Katherine, had knocked up the funky, fruity cake which was ceremoniously sliced and distributed.

Our groom then showed us all his slickly choreographed dance moves, with his beautiful WIFE gracefully mirroring each step and twist - wow!! we were dazzled !!
