Wedding Photos from Jo and Mark's wedding at Yew Lodge East Grinstead West Sussex

It was another sublime sunny Sussex summer's day for wedding photos with Jo & Mark's day at Yew Lodge nr East Grinstead. This venue has plenty to offer any keen photographer with the splendid gardens.....throw in the extras - vintage cars, pretty dresses, goldfish, cute kids, outdoor games, false moustaches and the buzzing 'north meets south guest mix' !! ...and it all provided a hot photo cocktail of colour and FUN !!

After a drop in at Jo's parent's home for the getting ready scene, I met the boys hard at work at Yew Lodge, decanting dozens of goldfish for the centre table pieces. All was handled with care and integrity (but would the fish survive the reception party with drink spilling around their delicate microcosms?.....)

Jo looked Gorgeous with a capital G stepping out of her vintage open top Beauford (premium wedding cars) and was escorted by her 'pretty in green' bridal party to the entrance to the ceremony room, (brides dress by Mon Cheri and bridesmaids dresses from Her bridalparty, Singapore via Etsy) where Dad took her arm.

After the lovely ceremony, the party got flowing.....no time to sit about, there was a mixed badminton competition, table tennis tournament (Gran looked good), walkabouts, groom carrying, canape munching.....

Everyone was very well looked after over dinner - Yew Lodge has a family team; Peter, Pauline & Nick Wells who give a great, friendly service. More games - dress up photo corner and with 'guess the famous person', then speeches and more laughter. I noticed the gold fish were either resting v still on the bottom of the glass vases (or cowering in terror?) but they weren't drunk I don't fink.

The sun continued to pour so it was outside to complete the sports day and drinkies, while the sun eventually set. A great fun occasion in a wonderful venue.

Wedding Photos from Harry and Siobhan's day at Oaks Farm Croydon

Oaks Farm is a little gem of a place for wedding photography. Situated just outside the hustel/bustle of Croydon, the pretty walled gardens, barn, fruit trees, pond provided a great tranquil backdrops for Harry & Siobhan's wedding with a vintage flavour.

As I arrived, helpers were busy decking out the garden and croquet lawn with bunting, colourful decorations and not forgetting.....trays of cupcakes (taste testing as necessary). Harry & Siobhan's ceremony was in the superb, newly built barn, in which they had lovely flowers and hung framed photos of their adventures together along the aisle.

Siobhan arrived looking sensational, in vintage style in a beautiful old Rolls and feathers in her hair. Harry was suitably impressed and with appropriate words exchanged and a long long kiss, the new Mr & Mrs Rowe were 'created' !

The sun shone all afternoon for the tea party, drinks, games, dressing up, confetti and I loved capturing all the colour, laughs and fun unfolding. A blissful afternoon

Wedding Photos taken at Matt & Prim's wedding day in Godalming Surrey

Fun, candid and natural photographs were what Matt and Prim had requested for their wedding day......oh and also a sublime sunny English summer day would be nice too?! Well, the 'extra topping' came in thick abundance !!

The interior of St Peter's and St Paul's church, in the centre of Godalming, offered some cool respite from the blazing hot Surrey sun and I was more than happy to share my water bottle with the groom (dehydration can lead to fainting). Such were the conditions, that a large number of wedding guests were forced to shelter and take max refreshment in a nearby shady pub until the very last minute before the ceremony started. Matt had been a tad concerned about the lack of numbers until the mass stampede appeared around the corner.

Prim arrived a weeny bit late, however her radiant smile and stunning beauty reassured and took everyone's minds off the sweaty concern/heat factor; Matt was clearly blown away but remained standing (glad I had offered him the water). It was a lovely ceremony with friends & family reading, performing and offering hearty singing.

The reception took place in the very colourful gardens at Prim's parent's Godalming home. The chilled drinks flowed liberally, live music filled the airwaves and photos done here and there among the shady flowers.

All inside the marquee for the wedding banquet and the party really got going. Various antics for the camera's on tables to record and also the bizarre Goldalming tradition of putting an after eight mint over your eye and then aiming to progress it down your face to consume it without using hands !!  It was taken pretty seriously with quite a lot successes and amazingly no smear of chocolate across participants cheeks.

A great fun day providing many opportunities for the 'fun photo factor'.....

Hampshire Wedding Photos from Silchester House

A beautiful day at a beautiful venue for gorgeous wedding photos at Andy & Hayleys wedding ! Silchester House, set in the Hampshire countryside, not far from Basingstoke, is one of the high quality Bijou Wedding venue's.

The wonderful gardens and grounds of Silchester were bathed in sunlight all day long, and I loved using the shadows, radiant glow and back lit elements for composing the photos. Hayley got ready in the superb four poster bridal suite. No hair extensions in sight as she told me she had been growing her hair specially for 3 years!

Andy and the boys arrived pretty well 'suited and booted', with an hilarious moment when they unknowingly put on each others jackets, with confused looks as they wondered why they didn't fit so well ! All exchanged and looking good, the guys got a few last minute details sorted, and we were good to go.

The ceremony took place in the music room, a tear here and there, but Hayley's radiant smile lit up the room ! All went very nicely and before long they became Mr & Mrs Cook. Out into the sunshine for confetti and bubbly with the celebrations running leisurely through the summer afternoon.

Their delicious banquet was served in the marquee with evening dancing there as well. A great colourful day with laughter and fun.

Wedding photos from Hampshire Hotel The Elvetham on Julian and Julie's day

The Elvetham Hotel is always a joy to shoot wedding photos and Julian & Julie's day was no exception. The lovely weather, splendid hotel, beautiful grounds, handmade details, cute kiddies, jovial friends and family.....and...not forgetting the v handsome couple....Julian & Julie !  all came together to make magic with the pictures !

All the guests had been invited to design and make an individual flag for the yards of bunting that decorated the Conservatory and Garden Room, which was a lovely touch. Julie had also done some stitch craft for the ring cushion, table names and other details.

The turquoise of the bridesmaids dresses, chair sashes etc was also picked up in some of Julie's grandmother's brooches used to cleverly off set the orange and cream flowers of the bouquets.

Their ceremony took place in the stunning Oak Room with the reception out and about in the gardens and lawns. A beautiful string quartet filled the air with sounds as we took shots here and there. After a sumptuous meal, dancing took place in the Morning Room, where its hard not to stare at the ceiling because of the amazing paintwork & gilding, but I managed to stay focused to capture the couple's first dance. We concluded pictures with the sunset.....a lovely wedding day

wedding photos from Lianne and Justin's wedding at Christchurch and Gordleton Mill

Yippee !! Another perfect spring day for wedding photos in west Hampshire and the Dorset coast !

I met up with Lianne and her trio of bridesmaids Christine, Kim and Emma at The Kings Hotel in Christchurch. There was another separate wedding party getting ready in a nearby room, but after several enquiries and snooping past doorways, I was fairly confident that I had the correct one. Preparations were pretty well at the final stages by then; odd hair tweak here, shoe strap there, sip of bubbly here, there and everywhere.

The ceremony took place at St Katherine's church in Christchurch, nice and cool inside from the hot sun. Slight noise distraction outside just as things got underway, with a team of tree fellers on full throttle with their chainsaws, but there was nothing to spoil the vision of Lianne looking drop dead gorgeous as she walked down the aisle and I enjoyed capturing Justin's transfixed face too !

We stopped en route to the reception for photos at Hengistbury Head where Justin had proposed. It was an absolutely lovely spot, big blue skies and the odd kite. Back into the cream Morris Minor (roof down of course) to head off to The Mill at Gordleston, in the New Forest. This place is a true gem of a wedding venue, lovely team of staff and amazing gardens, lake, sculptures, art works and quirky corners to explore. We loved the giant wooden garden chairs! A happy mingle al fresco with relaxed speeches, plenty of cool refreshment, before the splendid wedding banquet in the adjacent marquee.

I felt we had to get outside between courses to capture some 'romantic' shots with the sunset on the trees and lake, so hopefully it was worth it guys and no resulting indigestion spoiling the experience. A lovely lovely day!

Photos from Jim and Martina's wedding at Lainston Country House Hotel Winchester

For a wedding photographer, its always a pleasure to shoot at the superb Lainston Country House Hotel nr Winchester in Hampshire. Jim and Martina's wedding was no exception with beautiful spring sunshine and outdoor ceremony in the lovely grounds of the hotel - picture perfect !

Martina's preparations took place in one of the lavish four poster bedrooms of the hotel, while Jim and the best man strode about downstairs purposefully checking this and that. One of the best man's tasks was a crash course in falconry to enable a bird of prey to fly to him at his call, carrying the wedding rings at the precise moment in the ceremony. ( we had previously joked about being wary of some sort of dodgy decoy guy camouflaged in the woods, diverting the bird, so he could poach the rings !? so eyes were on the lookout)

The very cute little bridesmaids led Martina and her father across the lawn to the outdoor pavilion, a beautiful sight I'm sure Jim will never forget. On cue, best man was ready with his leather glove and hand gesture as the bird with rings was 'de-hooded', ready for take off. Several minutes later, despite much encouragement and considerable shortening of the route, our ring bearer was having none of it ! Cue polite tittering, he realised the joke was wearing thin, gave a sort of shrug and managed a 'hop' onto best man's hand, so the rings could be exchanged and marriage sealed !   Not quite the spectacular airborne display we might have hoped for but still an essential short 'journey'.

A lovely relaxed reception followed with photos here and there in the grounds ( I'm spoilt for choice with so much photo potential at Lainston ). Champagne and pimms served on trays with delicious canapes, a caricature artist sketched people, more birds of prey were passed about, magician did some card tricks, dresses admired, gardens explored, confetti scattered......

The banquet took place in the 17th century Dawley Barn and a fine time had by one and all.

Hampshire wedding photos from Chawton House and The Long Barn in Newton Valence

It was a gorgeous day for wedding photos for Amanda & Julian's Hampshire wedding. All the elements came together perfectly for the quintessential classic vintage English country wedding with a Scandinavian twist !

First location was the couple's cottage in Newton Valence with Norwegian flag on the door ! Amanda's father and Julian were just fixing button holes before Julian made scarce out the side door, so as not to see his bride to be getting ready in the sitting room !  Her beautiful vintage dress designed by Jane Bourvis was also hidden hanging behind the spare bedroom door.

With radiant spring sunshine and a lovely country road to picturesque historic Chawton village, I started to feel I was on a period drama film set ?! This was further enhanced seeing the groom and best man strolling up to Chawton House wearing top hats, tails and canes. Once inside the splendid Elizabethan house with the dark wood paneling, paintings and antique features, and getting lost with various staircases, passages,  I was by now definitely 'back in time'.....

Amanda arrived in classic style in a 1925 Austin Windsor vintage car to gather with her 8 bridesmaids, half in traditional Norwegian Bunad dresses and the others in similar colour to the bride's dress. I loved the bridal party's descent down the old staircase. Amanda has previously stated her passion for black & white and this scene was a rich opportunity to use just that.

The lovely ceremony took place in the magnificent dining room of Chawton House 'library' (as its known, although to you and me its a massive house !) with its floor to ceiling dark paneling and hanging portrait paintings.

With the beautiful weather and stunning grounds, we were spoilt for choice for super photo spots. A happy leisurely mingle of family and friends spilled around the gardens, with the couple last to leave, driven down the amazing driveway in the classic red car   see www.austinclassiccars.co.uk

The reception continued on at the splendid Long Barn at Shotters Farm in Newton Valence. Its a wonderful huge space with dance floor at one end, bar mid between the dining space, which was all beautifully decorated and set up in the main area. A sumptuous buffet provided by Jane Holmes Creative Cooks did everyone proud with more wine and bubbles, speeches and gifts going down well.

Sensational music and singing by Ray Lowe with The Red Carpet Entertainers Band  got feet tapping with some vintage jazz soul sounds. Then the ultimate send off for the first dance with Josie's gorgeous rich tingling singing voice taking things to an even further level !   Wow !!

Andy & Emma's Hampshire wedding photos from Farringdon

For Andy and Emma's wedding photos, the idyllic Hampshire countryside provided the perfect backdrop. Adding in the other elements - pretty village church, tea and cakes in the hall beforehand, classic Austin Healey sports car, South Down Hills, marquee at a traditional country pub, racks of local fine ales, it all provided a heady mix of photo opportunities.

Emma's preparations took place at The Alton House Hotel, and the bubbly was already poured and slipping down nicely when I arrived. Everyone calm and collected, a bit of last minute stitching work saved the day for Andy's mother.

On to Farringdon church hall, where the ushers had volunteered(?) to roll up their sleeves for a bit of tea making and cake serving to guests as they arrived. Once all tea'd up, it was over to the pretty village church to gather for the ceremony. Andy looking dapper and cool with the sun pouring through the church windows as he gazed down the aisle to Emma arriving. A hearty bit of male choral singing for the first hymn (it was  school song from Andy's days) got things motivated and it was a lovely ceremony.

Lo and behold the sun came out (yeah!) for happy mingling and a few photos, including some within the amazing old hollowed oak tree. With roof down, Andy revved up the Austin.....er..a bit of a stutter....but then restart, more revs......all good to go......and off down the Hampshire lanes !

The Pub with No Name (aka The White Horse in Priors Dean) put on a splendid marquee with racks of beer barrels (containing beer) for the wedding party. We had a wee drop of April showers (understatement!) but no floods - most guests were fine and dry inside the marquee. Warming pies and spuds went down well, with ample beer flowing a merry time was had by all.

Fiona & Elgar's colourful wedding at The Montagu Arms Hotel

For colourful wedding photography, it didn't get much better than at Fiona and Elgar's super wedding day at The Montagu Arms Hotel in Beaulieu !!

After a long dull chilly month it felt as if all the guests had each bought a bucket of sunshine with them, whether they were a part of the NZ, Aussie, Swedish, Turkish gangs....... or other multiple guest destinations. Sunshine was radiating out in all directions to showcase the colouful flowers, decorations, outfits, gardens, cakes.......

It was a lovely relaxed day with a lunch time ceremony, so the afternoon could be spent basking in the warm spring day outside, sipping this and glugging that. Photos here and there with a 'romantic walkabout' to the lake via impromptu bus stop shot.

A sumptuous Montagu wedding banquet went down well, followed by much joviality around the speech making; Elgar's brace of best men letting him off quite lightly.

Later everyone tucked into the generous cake collection (donated by friends and family), the large variety of which made a good excuse to try several different slices ! More laughs and spot of croquet outside before limbering up for the ceilidh dancing. Always a challenge to photograph, I was pleased with my shot of the happy couple skipping towards camera under the tunnel of guest's raised arms. No collisions or injuries, everyone had a good old time !!

Wedding Photos from Mary & John's wedding at Chewton Glen

The superb Chewton Glen Hotel and grounds provided the lavish setting for wedding photos for Mary and John.

Mary's family had travelled over from Canada (where it has been -20 degrees C) and Mary's father remarked that it was always fine weather when he came to UK. Not wanting to shatter his illusion, I enthused that of course we enjoyed a warm temperate climate here, indicating the blue skies and spring flowers as the norm and not mentioning the wettest winter on record had only just started to dry out !!

Mary and Johns wedding was an intimate family gathering, but the occasion was just as grand as any large wedding. The lovely Mary smiled her beautiful smile throughout the day and John, the dashing groom beamed his handsome grin as well as the odd tear.

We were able to be outside to explore the beautiful grounds of the hotel for some 'romantic atmosphere' shots before the sumptuous wedding banquet in the summer house room. Speeches were made intermittently between courses to extend the meal into a relaxed time for the two families. A lovely day for a lovely couple

Lucy & Davids lovely autumn wedding at Northbrook Park

I love shooting weddings at Northbrook Park and the photos at Lucy and David's wedding have an autumnal tint. I photographed a wedding here in the spring so this was a different look. Stunning autumn colours of the flowers by Hannah Paine of Hannah Berry Flowers, based in Farnham.

Lucy and Davids wedding day had a lovely relaxed feel, everything seemed to proceed at a leisurely pace. David and best man sipped a pre-wedding beer (just the one) together on the balcony. Lucy was staying at the house so it was a stroll over to shoot a few pics there with Mum and sisters helping out. The little flower girls were very good, having their hair done, no tantrums. Page boy was beaming his perfect unprompted cute grins in my direction. All was peace and harmony.  (just wish home was like this!)

Lucy was beautiful and serene walking down the aisle. Friends sang a lovely song and read some poetry at the ceremony. We were even allowed to throw confetti inside as it started raining. A bit of patience (helped with the gentle flow of bubbly stuff) and the showers did abate to permit us to get outside for photos in the walled gardens.

A sumptuous feast by Fusion Catering of mixed mezze and smoked fish platters kept everyone busy as daytime slipped to evening with speeches, fun, cake and dancing. A lovely wedding day.

Wedding Photos from Nicky and Adams wonderful autumn wedding at Upton Grey Village Church and Lainston House near Winchester Hampshire

The day was crisp and clear, with sparkly sunlight and hints of autumn to give wonderful atmospheric light for wedding photos at Nicky & Adam's wedding.

Champagne popping, the bridal party gathered at Nicky's parents home for a drink in pyjamas (is that a song title?!) before the final beauty preparations. With a touch of this & dab of that, the dresses suitably dressed, it was only a short journey round the corner to the church. Myself, as the alert photographer, was of course well ahead of the bridesmaids to capture Adam & the boys shaping up at the church. Upton Grey has a very pretty church with an ideal layout for weddings, several ways in and out for guests/bride entrance plus that handy little side door for the photographer to slip through unnoticed to find oneself the other side of the couple and vicar!

After a lovely ceremony, the sun put on its best show for all to gather outside for post wedding conferring, confetti, with a bit of whooping and waving.

A wee bit of a drive down to near Winchester (handy again to eat a sandwich) to arrive at the truly stunning Lainston House. As a photographer, you are somewhat spoilt for choice at this venue, with so much varied scenery, beautiful gardens, backdrops, atmosphere, romantic corners etc. As a guest, you are spoilt by the hard working team of staff efficiently pouring & attentively passing.

The reception dinner was in the splendid 17th century Dawley Barn with authentic beams, tapestries and candles. The wine and gravy flowed, touching words were spoken, the couple did their romantic dancing bit before guests hit the floor to celebrate. What a great day!

New photos of Shelley & Chris's wedding day at the Grand Hotel in Brighton Sussex

For a wedding photographer, it doesn't get much grander than newly refurbished The Grand Hotel in Brighton, and Chris and Shelley certainly celebrated their wedding in 'Grand Style'. Despite the awe inspiring location, the Regent Room with its wood paneling provided a lovely intimate candle lit wedding setting for close friends and family.

The gorgeous Shelley had her trio of lovely bridesmaids Hannah, Rebecca and Isobelle in escort and we did some nice photos on the hotel stairway, before she took her Dad's arm to be led into the ceremony room to meet the beaming Chris. With a tear or two, she took hands of her very soon husband-to-be and the ceremony got underway. Meanwhile the main ring bearer Finley had decided that no wedding ceremony was going to interrupt his early afternoon nap and took the opportunity to get his head well and truly down! It was then up to page boys Louis and Jake to step up with the rings to seal the marriage.

Drinks within the hotel Pavilion Suite with the sun streaming in and glinting on the sea. A few family photos on the steps of the hotel and into dinner in the spectacular Empress suite. Both Chris and Shelley gave speeches and it was a really happy occasion.

Then just to complete the experience, we popped out onto the prom for a few impromptu snaps be the seaside......aaahh lovely :)

Gareth & Catriona's wedding day at The Gorse Hill De Vere Hotel, near Woking in Surrey

The Gorse Hill Hotel nr Woking, Surrey was the venue for Gareth and Catriona's wedding day, and what a fine place it is too !! large enough to be 'magnificent', small enough to be intimate. The beautiful gardens really stood out with the dazzling rhododendrons and azaleas.

Talking of dazzling, the groom Gareth, fastidious in his preparation, was flanked by his two best men, maybe slightly less fastidious but still brimming with enthusiasm and gusto.

Cat, the beautiful bride, was calm and collected getting ready with her two bridesmaids, offering her radiant smiles throughout the day. It was just a short walk across the court to the hotel marital suite and the ceremony was underway.

Outside for champers and nibbles, plenty of photos in the gardens and a relaxed reception party enjoyed by all. The interior of the hotel was transformed by the couples own decorations and artistic touches, and the mother & sister of the groom's stunning cake.

Jan and Sarah's beautiful wedding day at Notley Abbey

The house and grounds at Notley Abbey offer a splendid backdrop for romantic wedding photos; a beautiful medieval country house, stunning grounds, a lake, a tree lined avenue, stone barn banqueting hall....and a sort of Rapunzel castle tower!

Luckily Sarah wasn't trapped in the tower (although of course Jan would have climbed up to rescue her!), she was getting ready in one of the sumptuous bedrooms. The 'girls' lent a hand sharing the champagne as the anticipation grew.

The prospect of an outdoor ceremony was all set; chairs perfectly, laid out, flowers in place, paparazzi held back....only last thing needed was the weather to remain 'constant' - simple! Oh and the temperature to be above 16 degrees?! ( as insisted by the registrars/health and safety) . As we know, part of the charm of the UK is the 'quaint little weather turns' and right on cue, the temperature fell and a few raindrops started to pitter-patter down ! But, the team at Notley Abbey are well prepared and in an instant, the indoor stone barn was transformed for the wedding ceremony, with everyone dry and cosy indoors!

Sarah looked absolutely beautiful walking in, the harp was harping, Jan was grinning hugely and the ceremony got underway. First a civil part, followed by the Jewish ceremony and blessings with requisite vandalism of glassware, and Jan and Sarah were hitched!

The rain ceased, the skies parted, the sun shone and all out for photos and drinks in the gardens. How wonderful! Then almighty downpour and it was a mass charge for the only doorway, bit of a crush, women and children first but all survived intact.

The party got seriously going with hearty gusto ('you have a drink problem if you drink more than your doctor' as the saying goes), a super banquet, speeches, tipsy chess games, cake munching, dancing......a wonderful day!

Wedding Photos from Amy and Garry's wedding at The Elvetham Hotel

Wow, did the sun shine for Amy & Garry ?!! Great light for sun kissed wedding photography at the Elvetham Hotel.

The bright autumn day in the beautiful gardens of The Elvetham Hotel seemed to 'tingle' with warm anticipation as I waited for the bridal party to arrive. The white limo and bridal car looked magnificent cruising up the drive. With Amy's 3 sisters as 'grown up' (most of the time!) bridesmaids, and the 2 little girls and 1 page boy, not to forget the bride, it took a bit of time and effort to get the show on the road.

But what a show we had ! Following final preparations upstairs, the ceremony took place in the superb Oak Room with the striking colour themes of blues/purples/magentas/creams. Then out into the sunshine for confetti and celebration in the grounds of the hotel. Such a wonderful day and very spoilt for choice of such great photo spots to choose from, we could have been off for hours!! Luckily for Amy & Garry, I kept restrained and we had 'efficient' fun getting family groups and romantic shots done around the relaxed party mingling on the lawns.

All in to sit down for a superb dinner in the library room with speeches, cake cutting and downing of shots. Soon all was hotting up on the dance floor with all generations showing their stuff, a great day!

Claire & Ryan's wedding day at Cain Manor near Farnham in Hampshire

Claire & Ryan's lovely summer wedding took place at the beautifully restored Cain Manor nr Farnham, Hampshire. The venue has it all - wonderful gardens, backdrops, old charm with its beams and interiors, and the splendid hall with its high ceiling and window.

Claire was gorgeous with a capital G, Ryan dashing and dapper, bridesmaids 'hot', the little flower girls and page boys gave plenty of 'cuteness factor' and all behaved exceptionally (even the ushers).

Following the ceremony, it was Pimms and violins outside with a spot of alternative improvised kids croquet. Time for some photos in selected spots around the grounds with sunshine and willow tree before the banquet. All very relaxing and colourful.

Jasmin & Matt's wedding at Shedfield Church in Hampshire and The Solent Hotel Southampton

OK it rained a bit.....and a bit more.....well quite a lot I suppose...BUT did it dampen spirits on Jasmin & Matt's wedding day?? NO WAY !!!!

Everything came together beautifully - bridesmaids were gorgeous, two flower girls Ruby-May and Poppy were especially cute, Jaz looked amazing in her fab dress, Matt scrubbed up pretty fine, best man looked 'cheeky', the flowers and details of styling throughout the venues all really worked well.

The ceremony took place at the pretty church in Shedfield with the reception at The Solent Hotel Southampton. A fine time was had by family and friends with dinner, silly dancing and indulgence at the chocolate fountain

Wedding Photos from Lucy & John's wedding day at The White Swan Arundel and Fitzleroi Barn Fittleworth Pulborough West Sussex

The two venues for Lucy and Johns wedding; The White Swan Arundel and Fitzleroi Barn, Pulborough in West Sussex offered great variety for super wedding photography!

There was always the threat of 'changeable' conditions in the weather forecast, but a 'wee drop of moisture in the air' was certainly not going to dampen Lucy's bright enthusiasm for her wedding, not one drop (scuse the pun!). We started in Arundel with the getting ready scenes, and then all the bridal party spilled out onto the streets of festival Arundel for some walk about giggling photos with bunting and balloons provided and backdrop of the Arundel castle walls.

Taxi ride for me back to the White Swan, where the ceremony room had been transformed by splendid colourful floral arrangements from a helpful relative. John was very relaxed and laid back, and I had to actually suggest a tongue in cheek 'anxious look' for a more 'gritty emotional shot' or two of him waiting !! Lucy was stunning and all smiles as she walked down the red carpet and it was a very happy ceremony.

Sure enough the rain arrived as predicted so it was a quick dash to grab a beer and board the bus to the barn. Once there we managed some shots outside before conditions deteriorated somewhat. However it did not deter the happy couple setting off to the fields for some romance with scenic views of the Sussex countryside (Ok it was greyer than hoped but a bit of photoshop can help)

Partying got well underway with champagne, chefs hats, pies and chips, more champagne, homemade liquor, sing a longs, speeches, hilarity and eventually a loving first dance followed by more expressive 'get on down right on silly moves' by anyone left standing !!    A great day

Emily & Marc's wedding ceremony at The Holy Ascension Church in Hyde, Hampshire and reception at The New Forest Outdoor Centre near Lyndhurst in Hampshire

There was perhaps an initial certain 'unpredictability' on Emily and Marc's wedding day?

I was slightly anxious about 'flying birds of prey and racing ferrets' at the reception in the woods....then arriving at the church, huge gusting winds were threatening potential storms.....we later had a few sweaty moments in church waiting for Emily's arrival....was she coming? had we all got the wrong day?

BUT.... she did arrive....looking beautiful, the storms never happened, the birds of prey were 'cute' and The New Forest wedding day all went wonderfully.....phew !!

Their ceremony took place at The Holy Ascension Church in Hyde, Hampshire with the reception at The New Forest Outdoor Centre nr Lyndhurst in Hampshire. Both settings were very lovely and we were spoilt for choice when locating a scenic photo stop en route to the reception.

All the hard work paid of with the beautiful touches of detail - bunting, flowers, table decorations, etc and everyone had a fun time in the woods. Slight nerves again with Emily wielding a 15 inch hunting knife (were we now suddenly unwelcome?) but luckily it was only a prop for cutting of the cake ! The party went on in style with some guests staying in the little Shepherd's huts.

Gorgeous Wedding Photography at Sarah and Matts wedding at All Saints Church Lindfield nr Haywards Heath and reception at The Anchor Inn Balcombe Sussex

The pretty village of Lindfield, Sussex and the scenic riverside Anchor Inn in Balcombe, the venues for Sarah & Matt's wedding day offered fantastic opportunities for wedding photography. And the English summer rolls on with glorious sunshine....yippee!

As the church filled up, Sarah's nieces, the cute flower girls stepped out of the gleaming vintage car, primed with magic fairy wands ( great idea on many levels). The wands did their bit as beautiful princess Sarah arrived with a gleaming smile (which lasted all day).

Matt returned a great smile to Sarah as she came towards him down the aisle ( I must say both Sarah and Matt have fantastic smiles - I think I'll keep a photo of them on my desk to cheer me up through the winter!). It was a lovely relaxed ceremony.

Off in the car to the deepest Sussex countryside (thanks for the signs guys) to The Anchor Inn for the reception, a great venue in a superb setting by a river. Party fully underway, there was much fun to be had - boys, boats and beer? a potentially lethal combination (what did the sign say as they went under the low bridge? "Danger no boats past this point"?). But thankfully, despite chronically poor steering, there were no fatalities.

As we did some scenic romantic shots, strolling through the meadows with the grass all yellowed and summery - it reminded me of Africa......could have been the Serengeti (what was the Basil Fawlty room with sea view sketch??......"herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically on the plains of.....") we could have been there!

More hearty partying ensued, with speeches, cake tasting and dancing, with a great time had by everyone.

Wedding Photos from Ben & Sarah's wedding at Leatherhead and Surrey Downs Golf Club

Another glorious English summer day (whats happening this year?!) for wedding photography at Ben & Sarah's wedding at St Mary and St Nicholas Church in Leatherhead followed by reception at Surrey Downs Golf Club.

When I arrived, Sarah was handpicking strawberries growing in a hanging basket at her parents house, to add the finishing touch to a glasses of bubbly during her bridal preparations - definitely a good start! Her sister and close friend were bridesmaids helping with the technical bit of 'dress doing up'.

Then off to St Mary and St Nicholas church in Leatherhead (where Sarah's parents were wed) to catch the Ben and boys looking dapper before kick off. Ben confessed he was nervous but obviously no doubts, as her took his place proudly waiting for his bride to be. Sarah made her stunning entrance, her veil was lifted and I guess Ben's nerves evaporated as they both looked so happy and care free.

We did some group shots in the (more shady) parts of the church grounds and afterwards it was Box Hill with Ben and Sarah for wonderful shots with the Surrey countryside views. Surrey Downs Golf Club also has lovely open space for romantic photos but it helps to have a golf buggy and driver to take you to the best spots.......which I did !!  (surprisingly nippy too). It all looked gorgeous and we could have stayed for ages but there was a party to get back to.

Plenty of celebrating, dinner, cake and dancing ensued with the superb sun set to top it all.

Mo and Sonia's wedding day at Stanhill Court Hotel Regate Surrey

Another gorgeous sunny day in the fab summer of 2013 for photos at Mo and Sonia's wedding at the Stanhill Court Hotel Charlwood near Reigate Surrey !!

The hotel has a superb variety of gardens and interiors for wedding photography. We started with Sonia's preparation, and got some nice shots upstairs in the old character 4 poster bedroom and wooden landing near the stairway  ( but not too close to be seen as guests were gathering below !). The Rabbi then brought Mo up to the bedroom to be with his beautiful bride for the first part of the traditional Jewish ceremony.

The superb conservatory for ceremonies at Stanhill Court hotel was decorated beautifully and Mo waiting at the chuppah gave a huge grin as Sonia was led down the aisle by her mother. The room has lots of natural light to illuminate the happy couple as they said their vows. Bit of wine sipping, glass breaking, blessings and Mo and Sonia were married!!

It was very warm outside so we used some shade for group photos and then went walkabout with in the walled gardens adjacent to the hotel. Lovely sunlight to use for romantic shots of the couple. The relaxed dinner was in a oak panelled dining room with the evening party and dancing in the conservatory. Gorgeous sunset on a perfect day :)

Ben & Julia's wedding ceremony in Hambledon, Hampshire and reception at Hollycombe Steam Collection near Liphook in Hampshire

At 2.32pm on 1st September 2012, I truly think the roof of the Church of St Peter & St Paul in Hambledon, Hampshire was raised by several metres!! Such was the power and glory of the choral recital by friends and family for the marriage of Ben & Julia! Wow !

It was all together a fabulous 'team effort' from many diverse helpers to pull off such a splendid wedding day for Ben and Julia. As well as the assembled choral muscle, Julia's father polished up his vintage sports car, mum did all manor of organising, Julia's aunt baked 17 cakes for the tea party, fellow navy chaps raised their swords (and glasses), ushered and popped champagne bottles, Ben's brother's jazz band dropped by and kicked out cool sounds, step mum created the wedding cake, Ben's school drama teacher made a movie, (sorry if I've left anyone out).....AND....last but not least..... all the volunteers from Hollycombe Steam museum gave their time and grunt to get all the amazing old steam attractions puffin and steamin !

Hollycombe Steam makes a quirky wedding venue, plenty of hiss and jangles, hoots and chuffs. The colour spectacle is dazzling, the history captivating and the sheer child-like fun of going round and round or up and down never fails to get everyone smiling (or laughing hysterically).

As the sun set, moon came up, the colour lights transformed the landscape, the aroma of the hog roast mingling with the evening dew and coal fired engines. Ben and Julia's dazzling smiles never let up for the cameras, and everyone had a tremendously fun time!!

Natalie & James' marriage in The Church of the Holy Rood in Holybourne, Hampshire and reception at the Highfield Park De Vere Hotel, near Basingstoke, Hampshire

Natalie & James were married in the Church of the Holy Rood in the very pretty village of Holybourne in Hampshire. Natalie arrived in some glamorous style - with a beautiful deep blue Rolls too and her lovely bridesmaids in rich green dresses.

Their wedding ceremony had a special traditional shared candle lighting before the newly wed couple made their way down the aisle together. Outside it was bright and somewhat 'breezy' (understatement) but, it wasn't... raining...yeah !! So fun with confetti and photos before the couple swept off in their Rolls, with the rest of us following in more modest transport (well me at least).

The reception was held at Highfield Park with it's magnificent grounds and views to die for. The 'wind effect' was challenging (hold on to that veil Natalie!), but there were enough sheltered corners for some intimate photos.

The De Vere staff looked after the guests with cool efficiency through the sumptious meal, with great speeches and interesting plasticine modelling. Outside on the terrace with the amazing views, the bouquet throwing contest had several takes, with nearly all the bridesmaids having varying degrees of struggle and success, but I think it ended amiably enough.

Matt and Clare's wedding at Durley Church and Homefield Farm, Durley in Hampshire

The pretty village of Durley, the lovely rural Hampshire setting, the floral details, together with the glorious summer day all combined  to give Clare and Matt the quintessential English country wedding day -  and lots of visual treats for the wedding photographer !

Matt and Clare had booked me 20 months or so before the wedding day, so a great deal of work and planning had gone into this sumptuous wedding in that time - I hope the photos show it off !! Clare's parents hosted the reception at their Hampshire farm, with a splendid marquee in a field and I started off here, shooting lots of details of the decorations and beautiful floral pieces designed by Jay Archer.

Then some photos of Mrs Collins fastening Clare's very beautiful dress (see Brides of Winchester) as the farmhouse got 'busy' with the bridesmaids getting ready (checking/counting petticoats), Dad directing and Clare's brother searching for his cravat.....

Off to meet Matt and the boys at Durley church which offered some cool relief from the warm July sunshine. A bit of pre planning team talk involving pitchforks, tractors, pocket watches and a chimney sweep (I had been forewarned) and we were fit to go.

A subtle vintage wedding theme had been created  - with the bridesmaids looking fab in their colourful flowery numbers and with high levels of cuteness factor surrounding the pageboy and flower girls, the bridal party was dazzlingly 'ready' to escort Clare down the aisle. I managed a shot or two through the doorway (no photos in church) and then the newly wed couple stepped out through the pitchfork line up. The tractors were revving up to transport bride and groom and bridal party off to the farm on decorated trailers. All went off without a hitch (scuse pun) to cheers and waves.

The reception party flowed with relaxed splendor in the sun kissed countryside, photos here, there and everywhere. Matt and Clare and myself slipped off to a secret romantic location for some atmospheric photos - all will be revealed in due course......come back later!

A truly amazing wedding day ! see the whole day in my newly weds section - click here

Wedding photos from Ben & Nicole's wedding at Chilworth Manor Southampton

Family and friends had traveled from far corners of the globe to be at Nicole and Ben's Hampshire wedding day, with photos starting with Nicole's preparation at Chilworth Manor, Southampton, also hosting the reception.

Their marriage ceremony took place at St Boniface Church in Southampton and I was able to hitch a ride on the official wedding bus which got us to the church (almost!) on time.

Small wait for Nicole to arrive......little longer....... (Ben getting a tad 'sweaty' near the altar)...but arrive she did in great style!! to be led down the aisle by an international set of gorgeous bridesmaids/pageboys. The church interior was beautifully lit with soft diffused light - great for photography. Some more photos on the steps afterwards before all aboard the bus and off again back to Chilworth Manor.

Conditions could be described as 'blustery' but rain didn't spoil the show, and we got some nice shots around the grounds. The ceremony room had lavish decorations with white palm fronds and drapes. A great party and dancing was had by one and all

Claire & Howard's Romantic Norton Park Hotel wedding

The Norton Park Hotel in Winchester was the setting for Claire and Howard's wedding. The venue is a stylish modern hotel that also offers superb open garden space and grounds beyond, running down to a lake. Great for romantic wedding photography with the full sunshine giving nice contrast of shadow and highlight.

Howard seemed extremely relaxed and organised, ready nice and early, smiling an easy grin as he strolled about with chilled pint in hand (oh it's so so straightforward for us guys eh?). Claire too was nicely composed as she underwent her bridal transformation, dress adorning her already elegant figure, and just a few tears when Dad popped in to see how things were going!

Then a short walk arm in arm with Dad to the barn for the ceremony. Bit of a kerfuffle getting little ones in line (excellent return of phrase when crestfallen 4 yr old was asked to say "cheese" - "but I can't say cheese...") and the procession proceeded down the red carpet.

After the touching ceremony it was out into the sunshine, confetti, cold drinkies and piccies. Claire, Howard and myself did get off to the lovely grounds by the lake - see some of the shots below

Mike and Dani's wedding day at Highdown Hotel, Worthing, Sussex

The Highdown Hotel near Worthing in Sussex offer much more than first meets the eye for superb wedding photography opportunities. There are the tended gardens behind the hotel, a hillside meadow with wild flowers, long grass and then the hotels own funky mirrored ballroom. Truly inspiring for a photographer!

Dani got ready at her aunties house in Worthing with the help of her 3 bridesmaids, looking luscious in coral pink (is that the colour description?) Dani's shoes were pretty cool and I enjoyed the photo on the chequered hall floor.

At the hotel, Mike had been busy all morning multi-tasking attending to this and that, but now he stood suited, calm and focused on the one important task that afternoon! He hardly stopped grinning (through the rest of the day), as Dani made her dazzling entrance and the happy ceremony got going.

I had aimed to streamline the numerous photo options outside but we still explored lots of bits of garden and I could have done more......but of course the reception drew us back. Loved the dining room with strong colour and gold mirror frames (but maybe not Mr Wright senior's hunting horn blaring off to announce each next phase!). It was a great reception party.

Virgil & Agnieszka's wedding day at Warbrook House De Vere Hotel, Hook near Basingstoke in Hampshire

Virgil and Agnieszka were married on a fine hot sunny day in the beautiful grounds of the Warbrook House Hotel nr Hook, Hampshire. The three gorgeous bridesmaids, Ania, Mariola and Izabela were very attentive and excited in helping Agnieszka get ready, and wow! she looked truly stunning !

Virgil scrubbed up pretty well himself to become the dashing groom and the ceremony was a harmonious blend of Polish and Jewish blessings, readings, vows, glass breaking and exchange of rings.

Afterwards, a bit of confetti & cheering and then to alfresco celebrations with The Good Old Boys filling the air with cool retro sounds. We took a walk and did some photos in the stunning grounds of Warbrook.

The couple performed a very well choreographed first dance and then were promptly hoisted up to the ceiling for The Chair Dance (tear up the health and safety manual). Everyone went crazy and I found myself trapped in a frenzy of circling, whooping part goers! Absolute bonkers! It could have gone so horribly wrong but such was the fortified, unified ‘grit’, arms remained locked and Virgil and Agnieszka were eventually lowered safely and by now well and truly ‘wed’!

Top Hair Styling by LadyB Hair Design Hampshire

My technical knowledge of hair design is somewhat limited (extremely!) but I have a good eye and working alongside Lisa Mcbean at a recent Hampshire wedding, anyone can see that she has a delicate touch, good attention to detail and great creativity.

I can definitely recommend her for your big day - she worked very hard and calmly to transform 2 little flower girls, 4 grown up bridesmaids and of course The Bride to the dazzling retro look chosen for the wedding theme.

Nick and Bethan's wedding day at All Saints Church in Fleet Hampshire and reception in the village of Winchfield hampshire

Nick and Bethan were married in All Saints Church in Fleet Hampshire. It has a splendid interior and a sizeable crowd were gathered to witness the special occasion. Nick had been super efficient with his wedding planning, but I was glad to see he didn't have his clipboard with him on the day! He was now in full groom mode, looking dapper, relaxed and excited. With plenty of sunshine, things were set perfectly for wedding photography.

Bethan was very chilled and looked beautiful and smiley as she arrived in style with her bridesmaids. Veil lowered, Dad on her arm she made her entrance turning heads in all directions. It was a lovely ceremony with some rich sounds from the welsh male choir. Then into the sunshine and off to Hampshire countryside by the Barley Mow pub in Winchfield, Hampshire to an enormous teepee on the cricket field nearby.

Refreshment was on hand and the celebrations got well underway in the fresh air. All could have gone badly wrong when the groom and 4 ushers decided to have their photo taken on top of a tiny outdoor wooden (and probably slightly rotting) table. There was an abrupt crunching noise, bodies went flying and an upturned jagged broken metal table leg v narrowly missed the groom's 'wedding tackle' as he crashed to the ground! Luckily no serious damage occurred (boys will be boys  suppose...and why not?!)

The party flowed on with a slap up dinner, speeches and hot dance moves all under the cover of the teepee. A log fire outside was handy to snuggle next to.

Jodie and Ian's wedding day at Gate Street Barn, Bramley, near Godalming in Surrey

The rustic splendour of the Gate Street Barn was the setting for Jodie and Ian’s lovely wedding ceremony and reception. Writing their own vows and some quirky literary readings gave the Ian and Jodie’s ceremony their own very personal heartfelt meaning. I managed to keep composed enough to shoot, but emotion was welling up and the odd tremor on my shoulders and lower lip had to be controlled.

Jodie, elegant and beautiful, Ian, dashing and debonair, together they were very much the perfect couple in love.

The light rain fizzled out so we could celebrate outside and we did some romantic piccies exploring the grounds and lanes near the barn - a lovely setting.

With a conspiring team of 3 best men, Ian truly suffered some humiliation with their oratory onslaught (complete with props), but the warmth of the friendships shone through and any scuffles or fists were avoided. That out of the way the couple shone again with their professional dance and the party hit the floor for some rather less coordinated movin n grooving.

What a fabulous day! see it all on the newly weds section click here

Kimberly & Mark's wedding at The Elvetham Hotel nr Hartley Wintney in Hampshire

Kimberly and Mark's wedding ceremony and reception all took place at The Elvetham Hotel, Hartley Wintney in Hampshire. The venue is exceptional with magnificent panelled luxury interiors and stunning gardens. The Christmas time of year added to the atmosphere with cold crisp air, candle light, roaring log fires, decorations and inky blue twilit skies...wonderful for a photographer.

Mark, the groom, stayed at the Court Building next to the hotel and made his final dress preparations with the help of the internet (where would we be without 'how to tie your cravat with shaky hands/ mild hangover' links ?!) and a bit of hindrance from Kimberly's two brothers!

Kimberly, having a posse of stylists and admirers (plus a drop of bubbly) didn't require the internet for her bridal preparations. Her dress was stunning and once all in place, Kimberly was led down the stairway by the bridal procession to make their entrance to the Oak room. The ceremony had a beautiful atmosphere, and with a tear or two shed along the way, the happy couple were joined as one.

Love fuelled, the nippy air was not a concern (well certainly not for Kimberly!), and we got some great shots outside in the wonderful wintry grounds. The candle lit dining room/library was a visual, cosy delight and the wedding dinner obviously a delight to consume too! Afterwards, it was back to the Oak room for dancing and a great party!

Photos from Rob & Jo's wedding day at Northbrook Park nr Farnham in Surrey

Rob and Jo's wedding day took place at the beautiful Northbrook Park house and grounds near Farnham in Surrey. The venue is truly wonderful for weddings with magnificent interiors and gardens - from a photography point of view it was a case of almost having too many options!

Rob and 'his boys' were there early and impressively straight to work (admittedly the bar wasn't actually open yet) with preparations/decorations before the guests started to arrive. The vine room was soon filling, necks craning and the air buzzing with anticipation....

I had been trying for a while, without luck, to get a colourful shot of a peacock displaying its full spread feathers. What of course I didn't appreciate was that the peacock was specially trained to do this crucial moments, so just as Jo's Rolls came gliding down the drive, sure enough our peacock leapt into action with it's dazzling welcome display!

Jo looked absolutely lovely and Rob beamed an extra beaming grin as her veil was raised and the ceremony got underway. With words and rings exchanged, it was outside into the sunshine for confetti, whoops/cheers, bubbles and ice creams. Photos here and there, exploring the magnificent grounds and setting of Northbrook Park. The wedding banquet took place in the splendidly decorated Orangery. The option of feasting, fun and later some silly dancing was enjoyed by one and all.

Paul and Shona's seaside wedding at The Square Tower in Southsea, Portsmouth, Hampshire with their reception at The Royal Marine Museum Southsea Hampshire

Ahh..... the romance of it all.....the crisp sea air....the distant horizons.... smell of the briny.....the squawk of the odd seagull.....the deep rooted celtic notes of bagpipes.....the castle tower..... all lent a 'nautical flavour' to Paul and Shona's wedding ceremony at The Square Tower, right on the lapping shores of Southsea, Hampshire.Great atmosphere to photograph a wedding day!

After setting up and lighting about 297 candles, there was just time for the chaps to 'run ashore' for a quick dram before all arrived to witness the big event. Bagpipes in full swing, sea twinkling, candles glowing, Shona swept in looking stunning (don't forget the shoes) escorted by her posse of little bridesmaids and her two fine sons Oliver and Aaron.

During the ceremony, Aaron read beautifully to everyone, and the marriage was sealed. Stepping out, the sun burst forth so we had shiny seaside photos and quick confetti before getting straight into the celebrations with some fizz at The Square Tower and then onto the impressive Royal Marine's Museum banqueting hall. After admiring the medals, swords (luckily out of reach of the kids), and other battle paraphernalia, the party continued with a sumptuous dinner.

Lorna & Peter's beautiful wedding in the South Hams, Devon

After shivering and whimpering, with gritted teeth, through the snow and chill of the Easter break, my travels from Hampshire down to Devon on 19th April was a like journey to another land! All was transformed to the lovely balmy spring day for beautiful photographs at Lorna and Peter's (much awaited!) wedding.

The spectacular Thurlestone Hotel was a stone's throw from the beautiful Thurlestone church, where the marriage took place. Sharp suited Peter, supported by best man and several junior ushers, was in the right place at the right time, to be dazzled by the sight of the radiant Lorna as she was led down the aisle by Brian.

After the knot was tied, it was out into the sunshine for colourful celebrations with the tymphonic steel band in the lush gardens of the hotel. The beach beckoned for bare foot photo opportunities, with sun-drenched light and twinkling wavelets. Oh so romantic !!

A fabulous dinner and party was then had by all. The happy couple did a slow first dance and then a sizeable crowd crushed around the chocolate fountain. I was half hoping for some action shots of jostling, chocolate spilling, drooling guests, but all passed off fairly neatly in the end.

Kathryn & Barry's outdoor wedding blessing at Exbury Gardens, Southampton in Hampshire

When Kathryn confirmed to me a few days beforehand that her wedding blessing WAS going to be outside (as the sleet was lashing down) I must confess I thought it a little 'foolhardy' !

But, lo and behold it did warm up and it did go ahead 'alfresco', with only a few drops of rain and the sun even came out yippee!! Kathryn & Barry having done their legal bit in a nearby registry office, cruised into Exbury in style for some shots by the main house. We were then met by the bridesmaids wearing lush pink dresses which created a splash of radiant warmth for more shots among the splendid gardens of Exbury.

The blessing took place in the Sundial gardens and after some family photos everyone boarded the 3.30pm Wedding Belle train for a choo-choo ride around lakes and quirky sculptures.

A slap up tea then followed in Mr Eddys tearooms (not sure if Mr Eddy was actually there?) with scones, jam, cream and other goodies....... and a fun time was had by everyone, young and younger.

Emma and Phil's Surrey wedding day at The Holiday Inn, Shepperton, Surrey

On Emma & Phil's wedding day, I felt the English summer monsoon was competing for the entry to the world tropical storm championships! It was biblical!

Family & friends were all relaxed and dry however within the plush interior of the Shepperton Hotel. Perhaps Phil was slightly less relaxed?! but well supported by young best man Charlie who remained cool and calm. Beautiful bride Emma swept in together with beautiful bridesmaid Lola and a tear or two of joy was shed by Phil. Charlie handed over the rings and the marriage was sealed.

A bit of refreshment.....and then a bit more.... and lo and behold the rain did subside and we got outdoors for some family shots in the gardens. A fine afternoon was had by everyone culminating with some slick family moves on the dance floor later.

Beth & Jack's Wedding in Kirdford and Rumbold's Farm, West Sussex

Beth and Jack were married in the very pretty Sussex village church of Kirdford. The vicar bore a strong resemblance to a famous actor who's name escapes me, and I wondered briefly if I had wandered into a Stephen Frears film set....? but I realised I was holding the main camera so 'snapped' (scuse the pun) out of it quickly enough not to miss any shooting.

Jack's beaming grins and Beth's stunning beauty lit up the whole church with the sound dimension enhanced by a lovely song by two of Beth's students.

Then outside with rain showers and confetti (sticky) and 'car roof off / car roof on /car roof back' off for the stylish vintage sports car departure of the new Mr & Mrs Boorman

The reception was held at the fabulous Rumbolds Farm (another potential film set?) but no sign of Farmer Rumbold and his heffers, just plenty of pimms, wedding marquee and fantastic gardens. Oh yes and a tug of war. No ordinary tug but next to a deep dark pond, surrounded by an electric fence, with strong gusts of wind and somewhat tipsy psyched-up participants. The health and safety officer wasn't present and I braced myself for a potentially interesting bit of photo journalism ( headline...'The wedding party was going so well...until the fatal accident and electrical fire...')

But thankfully all went off withourt a bang or flash and inside for speeches with Beth's father as the late Tommy Cooper Appreciation Society spokesman, more champagne, another great physical encounter with Beth's bouquet tossing event and then larking about the dancefloor.........What a great day!! Thanks guys !!

Kieran & Charlotte's wedding ceremony and reception at Pitt Hall Barn, Basingstoke, Hampshire

The weather for Charlotte & Kieran's wedding day was not exactly 'spring-like' but did that put off a determined bride and grinning groom? No way !!

After the ceremony at Pitt Hall Barn, nr Basingstoke, Hampshire it was on with the wellies and off to the woods. This couple were up for anything and we got some great shots amongst the bluebells minus raindrops.

The dining hall had been wonderfully decorated with artistic creations by Chalotte's dad Andy. A lovely meal, speeches and evening dancing ensued...a great time had by all.

Chris & Olivia's wedding at Taplin's Place, Hartley Wintney in Hampshire

Chris & Olivia's wedding took place in the pretty, if slightly eccentric venue of Taplin's Place nr Hartley Wintney in Hampshire. It is a fun sort of place with numerous quirky artifacts peeping out at you from the various walls, fences, gardens, pond, trees, etc.

Olivia arrived in grand style in a beautiful white vintage rolls royce laid on by Chris as a surprise. The marriage ceremony itself took place within a sort of summer house, with friends and family sitting alfresco on the decking by the willow pond. Pimms and nibbles followed and we had plenty of fun exploring the novelty grounds for photos.

A lovely feast was laid on in the barn with artistic decorative touches by Chris. Speeches, poetry, toasts, gift raffle, dancing, this wedding had it all !!

Stuart & Christie's marriage ceremony at Highfield Church in Southampton, Hampshire and reception in The Royal Winchester Hotel in Winchester, Hampshire

Highfield Church in Southampton was the venue for Stuart and Christie's marriage on 12th May 2012. It was a fine spring day and the church windows glowed with colour from the bright sunshine.

After the lovely ceremony, friends and family gathered outside the church to exercise their lungs blowing bubbles instead to confetti to shower the couple and we got some fun pictures!

The reception was held at The Royal Winchester Hotel in Winchester. The gardens offered a beauftiful backdrop for some more pictures on the sunny lawn.

Stuart greeted the relatives from Germany with some of his best lines in German and the wedding banquet was under way! A fine time was had by everyone, climaxing in a pretty professional looking choreographed first dance.

Kate & John's wedding day at Potters Heron, Romsey in Hampshire

It was a lovely sunny spring day for Kate & John's wedding at the Potters Heron nr Romsey, Hampshire. The boys arrived in good time for some leisurely refreshment al fresco, before donning the full Royal Marine kit for the big occasion.

Kate looked stuning as she swept down the aisle to the dashing John, sporting a huge grin across his face. After the ceremony, the couple walked the guard of honour followed by pimms outside in the grounds of Potters Bar. The sunlight and trees provided a nice canopy for some photos.

Speeches were got out of the way at the begining of the meal so all could relax and have a fine time!

Karen & Jon's wedding ceremony at Rockley Manor near Marlborough , Wiltshire with reception party at Wick Bottom barn near Marlborough, Wiltshire

Karen & Jon's beautiful wedding ceremony took place at Rockley Manor near Marlborough in the very picturesque Wiltshire countryside. Family and friends yielded plenty of young helpers, ring bearers, flower girls, performers, joy riders and general entertainers.

The party later moved down the lane a bit to Wick Bottom Barn for the splendid reception. The lovely creative decorations and attention to detail had lifted the barn interior to a spectacular level. Plenty of space outside for the grown-ups to run amok and then there was the cinema to entertain the kids !

The sun came out, the champagne flowed, general merriement ensued, then inside the barn with a huge roaring fire to sit for the absolutely delicious barbecued dinner ( I can vouch for it having been well fed myself ! ). Speeches and formalities out of the way, it was hair down and get lined up ready for the dancing !

Corinne & Luke's marriage ceremony at The Square Tower in Portsmouth Hampshire with reception in The Still & West Pub, Portsmouth, Hampshire

Corinne and Luke were married back in the lazy hazy days of early April before the recent monsoon season. Their lovely ceremony was at The Square Tower, Southsea, a fine building with historic character and atmosphere (contact Steve the genial enthusiastic wedding organiser). Then outside for sunshine, smiles and confetti before the excellent marching band arrived and struck up a stirring drum-tastic fanfare to escort everyone to the reception through the back streets of Old Portsmouth. The party was at the Still & West Pub, Portsmouth and a great time was had by all.

Ali & Mike's Wedding at High Rocks, Tunbridge Wells in Kent

Ali & Mike's wedding day at High Rocks, Tunbridge Wells Kent was a rich, colourful, autumnal event attended by a generous crowd of family, friends and fans! The place was packed to the rafters (literally) and it was a lovely warm gathering. We got outside after the ceremony into the autumn sunshine to do some special photos with the spectacular Rocks as a backdrop.

There was more than enough food to go round to feed the 5000 and lets not forget....THE CAKE !!!!!!! Wow!! A work of art to behold (and eat)

Ali and Spike did their first dance (with giggles) and then a surprise sort of 'team formation routine' for Spike's benefit

Joanna & Nick's wedding at Portsmouth Cathedral in Portsmouth in Hampshire

Joanna and Nick's wedding day at Portsmouth Cathedral in the city of Portsmouth, was blessed with radiant sunshine and summer warmth. The bright light illuminated the space inside with soft glow providing a very inspiring backdrop indeed. How many processions, I wondered had made their way over the years down this nave?

But today it was the beautiful Joanna with her father leading the little cherubs and bridesmaids all the way to meet her future husband Nick, waiting with the bishop, other clergy and quite a few guests!

A very special service, then outside for cakes, fizz and happy mingling. A few photos, a speech or two, laughter and then back inside the cathedral for the banquet, excellent!

My favourite photo of the happy couple is now, as they walk in through the great west door with the sun streaming behind them to join their guests for the leisurely feast.

Caroline & Mike's wedding at The Vyne, Basingstoke in Hampshire

It was a gorgeous summer’s day for Mike and Caroline’s wedding at a really beautiful venue; The Vyne, a National Trust house near Basingstoke (sadly no longer hosting weddings).

But is that Mike or is it… Dan?..... I hadn’t actually met Mike and Caroline before their wedding day, nor was I aware Mike had a twin brother, Dan. Having spent 10 mins concentrating on some shots of ‘the groom’ welcoming guests arriving for the ceremony, an usher politely told me that it wasn’t the groom but Mike’s twin brother, Dan!! Slightly thrown I found the only reliable way of identification from then on was Mike was wearing lace up shoes whilst Dan had slip ons!

Anyway, I couldn’t mistake Caroline who looked absolutely gorgeous in her long dress. Her lovely radiant smile lit up the day and made Mike very happy too!

We were spoilt for choice with so many beautiful spots for photos in the splendid grounds and I had to limit myself. We went for nice stroll along the avenue of lime trees and hedged gardens near the house and it all came together.
